Hey, road biking can be fun. I have been learning stuff like the other bikers around me are not cars nor are they trees or rocks. Hills still go up and come down. If someone in front of you hits the brakes you might want to find out what is going on. Also, if you turn left you kind of have to turn back right a little after the apex of the turn. But seriously, kudos to dude behind me for not falling down when I moved over to get by someone else on the hill.

Anyways, in the Masters 30+ we got in about 20 miles and climbed the little hill over a dozen times which was equal to about 850 feet of climbing, which was one lap’s worth at WORS Treadfest at Lake Geneva. So I watched Luke do a good job of patrolling the front of the pack, sorry I was not much tactical help. Also watched a fast Metlife dude zip up the side of the pack on the backside climb. He would get past most everyone going up the hill, but after two laps he was doing the same maneuver again. Puzzling. Fast forward to the last lap, I got one of those might as well have some fun itches and gassed it up the hill. Got past the whole pack on one climb, up the hill and around turn 3, little downhill to turn 4 and no one around me. Then, I realized that skinny tires and 35 mph through a flat corner is a little harder than I had imagined. Rather than eating hay, I scrubbed off some speed and then I heard that unmistakable sound of carbon wheels sprinting. I sat up and coasted in. Still had fun and learned some more stuff.
