This is an unconventional, unsactioned race but felt confident going in basically because of my experience on this type of bike. Although it being an impromptu race and not really have trained for it, I felt I was up for a big win not only because of experience but also because I was the one who designed the course.

I had seen some pretty quick times come through on the warm ups for this short course while I helped William tend to the grill and BBQ(thanks again William and everyone for there help with the BBQ). Kirby, Parker, and Newman put in some stellar times but I still felt confident I could put in the best time. Even Julia, new this year to xXx, smoked the course and who could forget about Sunny blazing it up.

So I lined up trying to focus and ignore all the distractions. 5,4,3, 2, 1. I am off. I get a clean start and throught the first two turns feel very fluid. But the distractions seem too much to handle, Kirby with the Bone Bell, William with my old firecoat, boots and axe running around, Bob standing on one of the lawn chairs, Parker working the timing (cheater), Greg and the rest of the 'Take a Roadie Off Road Day' Crew yelling faster faster push it push it. As I circle the lounge chair, I dive too deep into the turn and catch my pedal but it only slows me down slightly. I think this is where I start to lose my focus and as I enter the garage with still a good time, I take this turn too tight and feel my momentum slow. I am losing more time on the leaders here. As I come out of this turn, I know I need to spin up to an incrediable pace so I put down the hammer. As I accelerate faster than I can handle I come into the last two turns and ease up and accidentally hit the brakes and it is all over. I cross the line in a respectable 23:42 and in 3rd place. My best time trial finish this year.

Congrats to Parker for the Win and Patrick Newman for a solid 2nd Place finish. Next year I heard the course will be longer and I will focus more on this. I want the win next year. It is hard to go home to my wife and girls knowing I gave this race up on my home course.

Hope everyone had a great time today at the 'Take A Roadie Off Road Day'

Look out next year!!!!! I want the win.
