Garmin Unbound aka Dirty Kanza

Teammates Kai Luan and Dave Hudson are headed to Garmin Unbound this year. Below, Dave Hudson tells us about his experience, and the charity he is riding for.

I recently secured a pass down entry to ride in the Garmin Unbound Gravel race—the premier ultra-endurance gravel race in the world—in Emporia, Kansas on June 4. I was lucky enough to receive a charity fundraising spot—only 30 of us in the 4,000+ riders!

If your’e not familiar with it already, the “race” is a an unsupported 200 mile ride through the remote, chunky gravel and dirt roads of central Kansas. My goal is to finish the ride within 16 hours . . . well . . . to finish the ride!

The charity is the Lifetime Foundation charity ifetime Foundation charity which supports schools and communities to improve youth nutrition and promote youth physical activity. Their Nutrition programs have served 1.7m children through school partnerships in serving nourishing, minimally-processed meals, and the their Youth Movement program supports initiatives in which all kids can take part in safe, fun physical activity.

As a Youth Climbing Coach, this is something I have been passionately involved with over the last 25+ years.

Any help you can provide in supporting this cause would be greatly Appreciated!
