Hey now,

Just giving a quick and dirty report of XXX/Athletico 's mountain bikers who all raced on Sunday at Crystal Ridge ski lodge. The course was pretty sweet with lots of climbing, and it consisted of a 6 mile loop with a good sprinkling of fast and tight single track.

The first group of our racers Kyle and Keith were doing the Sport race which was 3 laps. Hats off to Kyle for stepping up with not Only a first place in this race, but also finished podium in the morning crit at Grant Park. Keith was rocking out in the Sport singlespeed class and finished a strong mid pack.

The afternoon race was the comp class with myself racing single speed comp and Mike and Andrew racing the geared comp. The course the comp riders did included a bit of extra climbing and some wicked downhill and 4 laps at about 6 miles each.

The start was a bit of a log jam with a climb right out of the gate that eventually hit some single track and it was then off to the trees and very nice and tight single track.

Overall for this event, I felt strong during and after the race, and ended up 10th out of 17 riders with a few in that group that were DNF's. Fer sure need to hit the trails before the next WORS race in two weeks.

Andrew was riding strong and holding his line well, as he and Mike passed by me somewhere along the 2nd lap. Andrew raced well and finished 6th, just shy of the podium, and not far off in time from #1.

Unfortunately, Mike had some mechanical issues with his rear suspension and was unable to finish. Before the technical glitch, he and I were passing each other a few times and he was holding his own until the rear suspension crapped out.

All in all, good showing and good racing by all the XXX mountain bikers.
