So I had a real hum-dinger of a kick to the teeth at the end of the season...a real eye-opener, if you may. I took some time off of my biciclette to assess where I was and how I was doing and then went out for one last hurrah before I called my racing season quits.

I must say, though you may know me as one to take massive pulls on the front, a destroyer of legs if you will, once I go time trial, I'm sucking wind.

I entered this race knowing I wasn't going to be pounding for the win. But geez, those guys who do time trials all the time can really go! Peter, Stritmatter, and all you time trialers, my respect for your ability knows no bounds.

Okay, so this time trial was a climber's TT. The course descended into a valley the first half then turned around and climbed out the same way you came. 5.5 miles of descending road turn 5.5 miles of ascending road is tough. I averaged 22 mph the first time through (during the ITT) and finished in 30.5 minutes not so bad, only 7 minutes off the winning pace :-\...the second time through was the cannibal TT (no aero gear), I averaged 20 mph and didn't really care about how fast I went, it hurt a lot but I had fun that second time.

That's that, season done...it was a good season, moving to N.E. and leaving you guys really showed how important a cohesive team like youz guyz is.

Here's to Hillsboro Roubaix 2009 and my hope that I will be able to race it!
