As my first Real bike racing/training year winds down, I had a few more things to check off on my to do list.

Unchecked box #1-Start a Break

I've watched many 3's races this year and have admired the absolute relentless attacks of John "The Young Cannibal" Tomlinson and Luke Seeman, these two have thrown themselves off the front and into the wind all season for solid results...Everytime I watched one of their bile raising efforts, I'd think to myself "gotta do that" and with this in mind the last month for me was about trying to get stronger. As I've said before, ride with people better, stronger and faster than you and the wild animals of the Turin Ride are certainly that...

Race day-I've got Mike, Chris and Kyle with me, I like the chemistry with the four of us, everyone of us likes to suffer with a smile.

I'll make this short since the other three gentlemen filed their reports before me and I don't want to be redundant, I'll just clarify some facts from my perspective.

-Mike's prime attack was brilliant, He ripped up that little hill like a demon and got a 200 meter gap before anyone could react..

-Me, 5 laps to go, 2 Tower riders picked up the pace,I sat 3rd wheel and when we came thru on a prime I jumped and one of them came with me and screamed "We gotta Gap" but, he was cooked, a third joined us but I couldn't get a rotation happening, we had no rhythm and were not surprisingly caught on the bell lap, I didn't want to get jettisoned off the back so I grabbed any wheel I could in complete oxygen dep up turn 3, I recovered slightly down hill and started moving up again, i was too far back to contest for the podium, but I wasn't gonna shut it down, even though my eyes were bleeding. I came thru the last corner about 10th wheel and threaded the needle between the wobbly blown out carnage Kyle had left behind in his jetstream of destruction for a respectable top 10..

I couldn't be happier with who won this race, Kyle was extremely selfless in giving me a 35 mph lead out at Sherman Park for my first win and I would happily suffer again to pay him back.
