Our mission at xXx Racing is to support and expand amateur bike racing in Chicagoland. We founded the Tour of Galena in 2011 to give Chicagoland cyclists an opportunity to race a multi-day omnium on the challenging hills of our home state. In 2016, when the event was unable to secure municipal approval in Galena, we shifted locations to nearby Elizabeth, Illinois for the first ever HILLinois. For the past six years, we have had a blast racing with you.

Many of you know first hand how tough it is to operate a race. It has always taken significant financial and volunteer resources to run a multi-day omnium, 150 miles from where most of our team lives. Unfortunately, the relocation of HILLinois has added additional strain on our volunteer pool. We have spent the past several months trying to find a volunteer partner to support our race-day operations, but we were unable to secure one for this year. For that reason, we have had to make the hard decision to suspend HILLinois for 2017.

We hope that this is a temporary decision and that we’ll be back in future years. In the meantime, we’re excited to help launch the Chicagoland racing calendar with the Lincoln Park Crit on April 29.

If you have any questions, let us know. Thank you for all of your support and enthusiasm over the past six years.
