XXX Racing-AthletiCo's Junior Development Program visited the Back of the Yards this week to help the Active Transportation Alliance teach students about safe riding and get them enthused about riding bikes in their local neighborhood. More than 50 children participated in an informal 200-yard bicycle dash, competing to win XXX cycling jerseys, T-shirts and medals, and we were happy to invite them to come to out the Sherman Park Criterium, where children can race for free in the youth race. The event was an overwhelming success for the Active Transportation Alliance, with attendance much higher than expected. Other groups helping out included Ciclo Urbano, Blackstone Bicycle Works, and Mayor Daley's Bicycling Ambassadors.
